DIXIE THEATRE

While participating in the instruction of a Ghost Hunting Class with the Adult Education Department
of the Sikeston Career and Technology Center (SCTC).  PTF had theprivilege visiting and
conducting an interactive mini-investigation of the very haunted Dixie Theatrein New Madrid, MO
with the attendees of the Ghost Hunting Class on October 18, 2008.  Then upon request PTF
returned to this location on April 24, 2009 to conduct a formal investigation.




The Dixie Theatre was  built in the 1930s and was use as both a movie and Vaudeville theatre.  
People have reported hearing footsteps and whistling while no one is in The Dixie Theatre.
Anomalous lights have also been seen.  

We will be conducting more research concerning this location and property.  If you have

Various equipment used duirng both investigations included still and video cameras with and
without night shot and IR extenders, digital and analog voice recorders, EMF meters, contact and
non-contact thermometers, night vision equipment, the Paranormal Puck (experimental equipment
from www.digitaldowsing.com) and the Ovilus (also an experimental piece of equipment from
www.digitaldowsing.com).  Both passive and interactive investigative techniques were utilized.





1. Unexplainable shadows were witnessed by some in attendance.

2. Unexplainable EMF spikes of up to 10 milligauss were experienced on various EMF meters.  One
very significant occurrence was on April 24, 2009 at about 9:35 p.m. when PTF Ron was stage right
behind the curtain and two EMF meters spiked to above 10 milligauss and remained there for quite
some time without explainable cause.  Ron was removed from the specific spot and taken center
stage where EMF readings were "zero" and also "zero" at the spot he was removed from.  Ron also
felt as if he was being somewhat choked during this time frame and his ears felt hot to him but not
to temperature readings of the thermometer.

3. Unexplainable cold spots both moving and non-moving have been experienced.  On April 24,
2009 at about 9:55 p.m. a moving cold spot of 51 degrees was documented when all surface and
ambient air temperatures were 66 degrees or higher including the outside temperature.  This was
only caught on equipment due to the laser pointer being turned off on the IR Thermometer prior to
a scan.  This may indicate an intelligent and interactive paranormal presence.  A guest investigator
from the Sikeston Career and Technology Center noted at the same time he felt a fast moving cold
spot pass by and brush him.  

4. Odd unexplainable red lights were both seen and captured on video during the October 18, 2008
mini-investigation.  

5. The Ovilus and Paranormal Puck's output at times in the constant and also in the question mode
were significant to the history of the location.
